Campsite Conduct and Rules
❖ With the exception of guide dogs, no dogs are permitted on any part of the site.
➢ Please inform all your visitors and transportation personnel of this requirement.
❖ People live and work in the vicinity of the campsite so please keep noise levels down.
➢ Do not use amplifiers or publicly audible sound systems.
➢ Generators are not to be used on the site without prior approval at the time of site booking. Their use can spoil the quiet of the evening for our neighbours and other campers.
➢ Please keep noise to a minimum between 22:30hrs and 07:00hrs.
➢ Ensure camp lights are out by 23:00hrs.
❖ Do not block the road.
➢ Access to other properties must be kept clear at all times.
➢ Drivers are asked to remove vehicles from the site as soon as possible after dropping off campers.
➢ Particularly during local camps, a certain amount of vehicular congestion can occur.
▪ Congestion can be reduced by arranging full use of transportation to the site (i.e. more than one camper per vehicle).
▪ For large camps, leaders should stagger arrival and departure times.
❖ Vehicles are not permitted on the site camping areas at any time.
❖ Please keep all campsite gates closed at all times.
❖ Do not dig holes or remove turf anywhere on the campsite for any reason.
❖ If you used any site equipment, then prior to departure, return it to the place where you found it.
➢ This requirement includes wood, sticks or stones used as markers, etc.
❖ Please respect all trees on site.
➢ No standing trees, whether dead or alive, must be felled or mutilated in any way. We remind leaders that they are responsible for the proper running of their camps and for the conduct of persons in In order that everyone enjoys their stay at Insh Scout Camp we ask that campers observe these simple requirements. ➢ Trees used for organised pioneering must be suitably protected.
➢ Campers must not bring chainsaws onto the site.
❖ Except for the Camp Fire Circle, do not light fires on the ground. Use altar fires for open fire cooking.
➢ There is normally a supply of wood adjacent to the Camp Fire Circle. Please only use firewood from around this area and NOT from other parts of the site.
❖ Neither Fireworks nor Chinese Lanterns are to be lit at any time of the year.
❖ Please keep the toilets as you would like to find them by cleaning them at least once per day.
➢ If there is more than one group on site then leaders are expected to arrange cleaning rotas.
➢ Do not wash pots, pans or dishes either in the toilet block or by the water tap.
❖ Rubbish bins are located in the compound at the end of the track.
➢ Use only those bins identified with the Scout Logo. Please make sure all rubbish is placed inside the bins and any problems please contact Jenny Steven on 07962035902 or speak to Graeme Low the warden.
▪ GREEN BINS for REFUSE and BLUE BINS for RECYCLABLE MATERIAL (EXCEPT GLASS).
• Rinse GLASS CONTAINERS and deposit them in the receptacles at either Spean Bridge Village Hall or at the Fort William supermarkets.
